Wakefield Police Department

                                                                                        Animal Control Division

All animal calls for the towns of Brookfield and Wakefield are handeled by the part-time animal control officer, Fred Guldbrandsen. When the animal control officer is not on duty, all animal calls will be handeled by the patrol division. The Wakefield Police Department is equipped with an outdoor animal kennel that is temperature controlled to accommodate the comfortibility of each animal throughout the change of every season. While awaiting their owner's arrival for pick-up, each animal is fed, watered and exercised each day. Each domestic animal that is located and stored in the kennel will have a photograph, description and geographic area in which they were  located posted below. If you recognize an animal that is being stored in our kennel please contact the Wakefield Police Department dispatch line at 603-539-2285 and an officer will release the animal to you upon arrival. The Wakefield Police Department does charge a $15.00 kennel fee for all animals stored in the kennel longer than four hours after being located. For each additional day your pet is stored at our kennel, a $10.00 kennel assessment fee accurs. Payments must be paid in full prior to your pet being released from the facility. Please contact Officer Guldbrandsen for questions regarding fines and payments.

All wild animal calls for service are handeled by The New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game. To report a wild animal call please contact 603-271-3361 for service.
